The Green Knight changes date and will arrive on July 31, 2021

We will have to wait a little longer to enjoy The Green Knight in Spanish cinemas and around the world. The production company A24, which is behind productions of the stature of Midsommar or Hereditary, seems to have changed the release date of the film starring Dev Patel: it aims to hit theaters on July 31, 2021. In It was originally scheduled to arrive in the United States in May.

Directed and written by David Lowery (A Ghost Story, Peter and the Dragon), The Green Knight full movie The Green Knight takes us into the story of Sir Gawain, Knight of the Round Table of King Arthur, who in the film is played by Dev Patel. Our protagonist, who is also the nephew of the monarch of Camelot, will have to prove his worth by embarking on a journey that will take him to battle the Green Giant, who is in charge of proving whether the knights are worthy or not.

The production is rated for adults for its “violence, some sexuality, and graphic nudity.” So we can expect a raw film loaded with visual power, which will surely not leave us indifferent in our seats. In the cast we also find Barry Keoghan, Alicia Vikander, Ralph Ineson, Kate Dickie and Erin Kellyman, along with Sean Harris.

Andrew Droz Palermo, Head of Photography for A Ghost Story, collaborates once again with Lowery and A24 on The Green Knight. With music by Daniel Hart, who worked with the director on the horror film and on Peter and the Dragon, he is once again signing the soundtrack. The film, for its part, is defined as “an epic fantasy adventure.” Ghosts, giants, thieves and all sorts of dangers await Sir Gawain.
